It is a fairly extensive beach which is apt for windsurfing and fishing. Dunes and leafy shady pinewoods separate the sea from a natural site, making El Castor beach into one of the areas most peaceful isolated beaches. It has dark rather coarse-grained sand which is always very clean, as is the water. There is a private personal watercraft club where one can do this sport in a controlled manner. The Estepona Marina is in charge of maintaining and guarding the personal watercrafts people leave on the beach and when such crafts are being used. It is equipped with a Red Cross hut, a maintenance service and showers.
